Daniel A. Lublin is the managing partner of Whitten & Lublin LLP.

Mr. Lublin practices employment law across Canada, where he is involved in all aspects of representing both individual and corporate clients in employment law, human rights and labour relations matters, with a particular emphasis on wrongful dismissals and employment-related litigation.

In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Lublin was named as one of “Canada’s Top Employment Lawyers” in Carswell’s annual survey, in recognition of his contribution to employment law and human resources publications.

Mr. Lublin has been a national workplace law columnist for the Metro News since 2005, where his weekly column is published in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Halifax. You can view his most recent columns on-line by clicking here.

Mr. Lublin’s opinions on wrongful dismissal and workplace legal issues are often quoted across Canada in various news and print media, including the Toronto Star, the National Post and the Globe and Mail. Mr. Lublin is also frequently asked to appear on television as a commentator to workplace related legal issues.

Mr. Lublin has appeared before all levels of the Courts of Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, where he was counsel to the Plaintiff in the precedent setting case of Adjemian v. Brook Crompton North America, 2008 CanLII 27469 (ON S.C.). Some of Mr. Lublin’s other recently reported cases include Cardenas v. Kohler Canada Co., 2009 CanLII 17976 (ON S.C.), which is one of the largest group wrongful dismissal judgments in Canadian history, and Hayes v. Peer 1 Network Inc., 2007 CanLII 65614 (ON S.C.D.C.).

Mr. Lublin is a regular contributor to widely read publications, Canadian Employment Law Today, Canadian HR Reporter and HRinfodesk and he has published a recent article in the University of New Brunswick Law Journal. He is also extensively quoted in the Bar-Ex resource for Legal Professionals, where his employment law articles appear in weekly and quarterly newsletters distributed among the Canadian legal profession.

Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Lublin gained employment law experience at two prestigious Bay Street firms and a boutique employment law firm in Toronto.

Mr. Lublin holds a law degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he was awarded for the highest overall academic achievement in labour law. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario where he graduated on the Dean's list with Honours standing.

Before practicing law, Mr. Lublin worked for the Ontario Human Rights Commissions and for a member of Ontario’s provincial parliament.
